Sh'ma Yisrael!
Adonai Alohaynu, Adonai Echad.
V-ahavta et Adonai Elohecha
b-chol l'vavcha
u-v-chol naf'sh'cha
u-v-chol m'odecha

What's that i just posted? Yeap, its the Shema, or in otherwords, the greatest commandment.

"Hear, Israel,
the Lord is our God, the Lord is One
And you shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your might"

Thats the translation for it. =]
stumbled onto it when i was looking around my mailbox.
Learned that from Father Lionel Goh, this priest from Hong Kong that came downt o Singapore to give us talks on how to read the bible. Really cool guy! lived in Isreal for a while, and he uses a greek bible. cool right? since then been trying to get my hands on a copy of the greek and latin bible. oh well, till now no luck.
I have this thing for ancient languages. give me a chance to learn ancient greek and ancient latin and i'll be one of the first to sign up. haha yeah i love the language cause its old and well, a lot of stuff the church is based upon is in latin, greek or in hebrew. so that's actually why i love the 3 languages.

One day, i want to be able to read all of the church doctrines in its original language and also the bible in what it was written in originally, so well, that i can really understand it, not some transkation thats made it lose some of its real depth and meaning, though for now i have to make do with what i have.... I'm sort of an aspiring archeologist. i like the old things. Old civilisations and languages and writings facinate me, which is why i like looking up at the stars... not only does it make me wonder exactly how old this planet is, but also if anything else exists out there in the universe besides us. yeap... also an astrologer. =] u know star charts? stars? yeah. not the Astronomy kind, but the real science kind, the NASA scientist. yeah. that kind.. i also wish i'll get to do AstroPhysics and QuantumPhysics. but i'll never be able to lah.. not intelligent enough. =] i guess the astronaut in me hasn't died yet. haha...

Childhood dreams. haha.. i wonder if i'll live to see the day warp technology is developed... oh well.......

Had a rather boring day today. yeah, didn't go to school cause i wasn't feeling well, but i did go for CYF though. had this really nice talk by Gabriel, this guy working in the prison ministry. Something he said hit me, that made me think of my freedom, the freedom that i enjoy, and i think about what would happen if it was taken away from me. i don't thin i could bear it man... he shared with us about what some of the prisoners go through and well its not funny and its quite sad really... gosh....

Well, we don't know what we have until we lose it, or at least hear about people that have lost it and what we go through. Freedom, taken so much for granted.
Imagine, not being able to talk to anybody you want to?
not being able to eat whenever u want? not being able to do anything you want?
instead living a life where u're only allowed 3 books? living in a cell where your fate and your life is controlled by the proson guards and wardens as well as the government and the court of law? What kind of life would that be? 1 endless struggle, i'd imagine.... I'd honestly take my own life than live a life like that.... goodness...

*shakes head* so sad, so very sad.

oh well.... Good night
